Dor Duncan's work ranges
from interpretations of the visible, natural world
to more transcendental and ambiguous works, which explore the unconscious,
myth, separation, time and eternity. The use of transparent colour
glazes, and the emergence and dissolution of figures, shapes and
the laws of perspective, create movement and ambiguity within the
stillness of the two-dimensional media.
Dor attaches great importance to the selection of durable, high quality materials . Many of the paints used in Dor's works are individually mixed, using egg yolks, essential oils of spike lavender and poppies, and mineral and plant pigments. |
